7-Eleven in Denmark suffered a major cyber attack on Monday, crippling payment and checkout systems in stores across the country, leading to the closure of 7-Eleven stores across the country.
The attack took place on Monday night, with 7-Eleven posting on its official Facebook account that they were likely “under hacked”.

The company is investigating the security incident and has closed all stores in the country, the statement said:
“Unfortunately, we suspect we were hacked today (Monday 8th August 2022). This means we cannot use checkout and receive payments. As a result, we will be closing the store and we hope to be able to open again soon .” – 7-11DK.
In a now-deleted Reddit thread, an employee purported to be a 7-Eleven in Denmark also confirmed the cyberattack, saying they were forced to close the store after the checkout system stopped working.
“I work at a 7-11 in King’s New Square and our checkout system is down, all 7-11s in the country use the same system, so all 7-11s in Denmark are now ‘closed’,” the 7-11 said. 11 employees said on Reddit.
“All stores have closed their doors to customers and posted notices.”
